Kanalbau: once the trench is closed, the Zettel is all there is

Excavation, bedding, backfill – none of it is visible once the trench is filled. That makes the sheet the most important piece of paper on the site.

Aufmaß

What happens in the trench cannot be seen later

Excavation, bedding, backfill: the moment the trench is closed, only the Zettel is left. It is the one thing you can show in an audit.

1What comes out of the trench

Lengths, depths, metres of pipe, manholes.

2What goes into the evidence

Behind every quantity sits the sheet it came from – with date and signature.

Common questions

Questions from pipeline work

Can we exchange Aufmaß data with other programs?

Yes, via DA11 and X31 – in civil engineering that is the usual route when the client or a planning office processes the data further.

What about claims for extra excavation?

Items outside the contract are kept and shown separately. Mixing them into the contract items surfaces at the audit at the latest.

What if the quantity is disputed after the trench is closed?

You still have the photograph of the dated, signed Zettel and the calculation path derived from it. A closed site diary entry cannot be altered either – that is what carries weight under VOB/B.

Walk through one of your Aufmaß sheets

Bring a filled-in sheet from a closed trench. You will see the path from quantity to evidence on your own paperwork.
